Astrid: Forgotten City is a 2D platformer shoot ‘em up game. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world where it has been taken over by a mysterious entity known as “The Sphere”. This entity is sucking the life from the planet. The game takes place several months after the Sphere’s arrival. In the time since its arrival, the Sphere has absorbed all the living creatures on the surface with its own creations.

The game starts in an underground area, where Astrid continues her quest to find her missing friend Ash. She needs to fight through many enemies using her reliable sidearm, utilizing her parkour skills and cybernetic enhancements that enable her to dash at high speeds, double jump, and wall jump.

Astrid will face a multitude of enemies on her journey through the City. Slimes are a low health enemy that will jump on anyone who gets near. Drones are a medium health enemy that patrol for lifeforms, shooting upon acquired line of sight. Their movement patterns are sporadic to avoid getting hit. Nightbornes are dark creatures with lots of health. They will slowly approach living creatures they see to attack them with their large sword. Lastly, there is the boss of the area. This boss has three Turrets who will individually shoot at Astrid. If she is in line of sight with one of the Turrets for a long period of time, it will charge a high damaging shot leading Astrid to move to another platform where the same mechanics will take place. Astrid must do her best to defeat all these enemies in her quest to find her friend.
